Chris Liles Profile

Chris Liles has 23 years experience in various high profile, customer-interfacing positions in the professional service industry, which created his impressive people-skills. Frequently, this included confrontation situations e.g. as a Risk Assessment Surveyor negotiating remedial measures with clients to overcome unacceptable features e.g. insisting on installing intruder alarms or sprinkler systems. Also, as a Loss Adjuster, negotiating claims settlements at times of high client stress levels e.g. after burglaries, fires, floods etc. from commercial premises and private homes. His animated stories from these times enliven many of his coaching sessions!

This front-line experience culminated in Chris training and facilitating growth of ten nation-wide, front-line Customer Care Teams for Norwich Union. These Teams were tasked with seeking Continuous Improvement to enhance their service levels to both internal and external customers.

Since 1992, Chris has run his own businesses offering practical people-handling techniques and tips; researched, tried and tested throughout his business life. He believes that to effectively help clients, his own experience and knowledge base must be up to date. So, since 1997 he has consciously devoted at least one day per week to selling at high corporate level for his key client - by phone, email, letter and face-to-face. Prospects warm quickly to his credible professionalism and expert inter-personal skills. This means when challenged by his coachees about how to apply new relationship-building techniques, his support for them is relevant, practical and current.

Industry sectors Chris has assisted include Insurance, Engineering, Accountancy, Logistics, Estate Agency, Recruitment, Advertising, Oil/Gas, Motor, Retail, Print, Leisure, Manufacturing, Local Government, Housing, Travel, Tourism & Catering. Most have been based in Norfolk, his home County although he does venture over the borders to help clients - at the risk of nose-bleeds!Chris has a managing, selling, coaching and training style which is relaxed, humorous and practical, allowing him to work easily with front-line staff and managers as well as at Board level. Extensive use is made of anecdotes (often humorous) also drawn from his broad personal experience, which includes being a Club DJ, Show Commentator and classic car fanatic (especially Triumph Stags). Such use of allegory illustrates proposed theories in action for his clients, helping them to relate concepts to their own lives far easier.
